2024 Festival FAQs

When and where is the festival?
The festival is on Saturday, July 6th, in Chicago, IL, from  11:00 AM – 9:00 PM.
The festival is at The DuSable Museum, 740 East 56th Place, Chicago, Illinois 60637.
The entrance is on 57th St. behind the museum.

Is there an age restriction for attending the festival?
No, this is a truly inclusive event, welcoming all ages. An 18+ adult must accompany anyone under 18.
All guests must RSVP. 

What ADA and Accessibility will you provide?Pride South Side welcomes persons with disabilities to join us. Please get in touch with us no later than July 5th to request accommodations for special needs. Email 

What happens in the case of rain or thunder? 
In the event of inclement weather, the Pride South Side Festival will go on, rain or shine! 

What items are prohibited?
Tents and Umbrellas 
Any outside food or beverage
OPENED water bottles.
Metal, glass, or aluminum containers of any kind

Animals (except service animals)
Smoke devices, flares, or fireworks of any kind
Illegal substances or smoking of any kind
Professional cameras and equipment (unless you're a member of the media)
Hard-sided coolers or containers of any size
No b
ags larger than 14″ by 14″ by 6
No luggage, large purses, or backpacks  
Poles of any kind (metal, plastic, or wooden)
Inflated balls of any kind
Artificial noisemakers, including whistles or air horns of any kind
Laser pointers
Streamers and confetti
Aerosol cans

What items are permitted?
Lawn Chairs and Blankets 
SEALED OR EMPTY Water Bottles only. Water bottles must be plastic.
Bags no larger than 14″ by 14″ by 6″ will be allowed. Bags will be searched.

Where can I get water? Is it free?
Free water is available from the Hydration Station and the bar, but ONLY with a free VIP Wellness Wristband.

What form of payment will the festival accept?
We will accept cash, debit, and credit. There are no ATMs on-site.

Can I buy merch (Pride Pins) on site?
Yes! Visit the Unity Hues Vendor at the Festival. Locate the vendors on the festival map here.

Do you have a Lost and Found?
Guests who need to claim or report lost items should visit the Pride South Side Check-in Booth before the festival closes at 9:00 PM. For any claims after the festival ends, contact the DuSable Museum Guest Services or email to inquire about lost items.
